Hospitality Delighted conference; an experience itself!

On the 3rd of June the Hospitality Delighted Conference "Guest experience as factor of success" has taken place in the Hilton Hotel Amsterdam. The organization, which was done by the chief editors of the magazine Hospitality Delighted; students Tim Riensema and Huib Hendrix, was perfectly done. Around one hundered participants were present during this conference, which is a quite a good result for a first conference. The participants were partly out of the work field and partly from the International Hospitality Management School Leeuwarden. The former dean of the International Hospitality Management school of Leeuwarden opened the conference at 2 o'clock followed by three inspiring speaches from experts out of the workfield. The master of ceremony was Mr Steenbergen, director of magazine "Misset Horeca".

Mr Levie, the designer of the CitizenM concept, started with an explanation about his new concept, an interesting story with keywords as "technology", "experience by design" and "personal touch".

Followed up by Mr Rinkens, the designer of Qbic Hotels, he talked about experience within the hospitality industry as a whole. Important statements he said were "Star living and servivce living will become more important" and "Hyves will become a new tool of Social networking".

The last speech was done by Mr. Grit, teacher of the International Hospitality Management school Leeuwarden. He gave the conference a sence of humor; his presentation existed out of a lot of pictures and funny quotes related to all types of experiences. He explained experience with reviewing to books out of the industry and linked it to serendipity. The conference ended with a discussion between the three experts and the participants.
These three speeches together made a surprising combination of learnfull information about experience in the Hospitality Industry. There can be concluded that guest experience is a great factor of success. The focus should become more on "Thinking out of the box" and technology, trends and personalization are becoming more and more important in creating an experience which will last in the memory of the guest. "Guest experience as a factor of succes", the first conference of Hospitality Delighted, refreshing and interesting just like the magazine!
